1. Recruitment Organization Details

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), established in 2023 and headquartered at 23, Allenganj, Prayagraj, is the centralized body responsible for the recruitment of teachers across all levels in the state. The UPTET 2026 is the commission's screening mechanism to ensure that only qualified and capable individuals enter the teaching profession. Once a candidate qualifies UPTET, they become eligible for the "Super TET" or the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination (ATRE).

4. Eligibility Criteria (Academic & Professional)

A. Primary Level (Paper-I: Class 1st to 5th)

• Graduation + Training: Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of B.Ed or 2-year D.El.Ed (BTC).

• Intermediate + B.El.Ed: 10+2 with 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education.

• Special Education: Graduation with 50% and B.Ed (Special Education).

B. Upper Primary Level (Paper-II: Class 6th to 8th)

• Graduation + D.El.Ed: Bachelor’s Degree and 2-year D.El.Ed (BTC).

• Graduation + B.Ed: Graduation/Post-Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed/B.Ed Special Education.

• 4-Year Integrated Course: B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed with 50% marks in Intermediate.

5. UPTET 2026 Detailed Subject-wise Syllabus

Paper-I (Primary Stage) - 150 Marks

1. Child Development & Pedagogy (30 Qs): Focus on educational psychology, inclusive education, and learning theories.

2. Language I (Hindi) (30 Qs): Unseen passages, grammar, and pedagogical aspects of Hindi.

3. Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit) (30 Qs): Basic grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.

4. Mathematics (30 Qs): Numbers, Simplification, Percentage, Profit/Loss, Geometry, and Data Handling.

5. Environmental Studies (30 Qs): Family, Food, Health/Hygiene, Habitat, Water, Constitution, and Traffic signals.

Paper-II (Upper Primary Stage) - 150 Marks

1. Child Development (30 Qs): Advanced developmental psychology for adolescents.

2. Languages (60 Qs): Mandatory Language I (Hindi) and elective Language II.

3. Core Subject (60 Qs): Candidates must choose between Mathematics & Science OR Social Science.

4. Specialized Optional Subjects: For certain vocational cadres, the syllabus includes:

   • Home Science: Nutrition, preservation, sewing, and home management.

   • Physical Education: Yoga, national/international games, and first aid.

   • Music: Raag introduction, स्वर ज्ञान (Swar Gyan), and Taal.

   • Horticulture: Soil science, irrigation, and fruit preservation.

6. What is Super TET₹ (The Recruitment Stage)

While UPTET is an Eligibility Test, the Super TET (officially known as the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Exam) is the actual Competitive Exam that leads to a permanent government job. Only those who qualify UPTET or CTET can sit for this exam.

7. Super TET Detailed Exam Syllabus & Pattern

The Super TET is a high-stakes exam conducted for 150 marks with a duration of 2.5 hours.

8. Mode of Selection for Teacher Appointment

The final selection for the post of Assistant Teacher in Uttar Pradesh is based on a Quality Point (Merit) calculation:

1. Academic Weightage (40%): 10% each from 10th, 12th, Graduation, and Teacher Training (B.Ed/BTC).

2. Super TET Score (60%): 60% of the marks obtained in the recruitment exam.

3. UPTET Score: While currently a qualifying criteria, there are ongoing discussions to include 1/4th of UPTET marks in the final merit (subject to final UPESSC gazette notification).
