6. Educational Qualification

  • Academic: Must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.

  • Technical: Must possess an ITI Certificate in the relevant trade affiliated with NCVT/SCVT.

7. Physical Standard Test (PST)

Note: This is an Apprenticeship role. There is no rigorous PST like police/defense jobs.

  • Requirement: Candidates must be medically fit as per the standards prescribed in the Apprentices Act, 1961.

  • Medical Certificate: Selected candidates must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate signed by a Government Authorized Doctor (Gazetted) at the time of Document Verification.

8. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Not Applicable: There is NO Physical Efficiency Test (Running/Weight Lifting) for the RRC WR Apprentice recruitment. Selection is based purely on merit.

9. Mode of Selection (Detailed)

The selection process is transparent and based on a Merit List:

  1. Merit Score Calculation: The average of the percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (with min. 50% aggregate) and ITI examination, giving equal weightage (50-50) to both.

  2. Tie-Breaking: * Older candidates are preferred.

    • If the DOB is the same, the candidate who passed the Matriculation exam earlier is preferred.

  3. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called for DV at respective divisions.

  4. Medical Examination: Final selection is subject to medical fitness.

10. Reservation Criteria

Reservations are provided as per Government of India rules:

  • SC/ST/OBC/EWS: Horizontal and Vertical reservations as applicable.

  • PwBD: 4% of total slots.

  • Ex-Servicemen: 3% of total slots (including children of Ex-Servicemen and serving Jawans/Officers).
