Indian Railways Mega Recruitment 2025: 22,195 Level-1 Vacancies (CEN 09/2025)

The Ministry of Railways has officially released the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 09/2025. This massive recruitment drive for Level-1 (erstwhile Group D) positions offers over 22,000 opportunities across various technical and non-technical departments in the Indian Railway network.

3. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (As of 01.01.2026)

  • Standard Age: 18 to 33 Years.

  • Upper Age Relaxations:

    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years

    • SC/ST: 5 Years

    • PwBD: 10 to 15 Years (depending on community)

    • Ex-Servicemen: Service Period + 3 Years

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any of the following by 02.03.2026:

  • 10th Class pass.

  • ITI (Industrial Training Institute) from NCVT/SCVT recognized institutions.

  • National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

4. Detailed Exam Syllabus & Topics

The CBT will consist of 100 questions to be answered in 90 minutes.

A. Mathematics

  • Topics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.

B. General Intelligence and Reasoning

  • Topics: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement - Arguments and Assumptions etc.

C. General Science

  • Scope: Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).

D. General Awareness

  • Scope: Current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.

5. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  2. Create Account: Register with your active mobile number and email ID.

  3. Authentication: Authenticate your identity using Aadhaar or DigiLocker for faster processing.

  4. Application Form: Fill in your educational details and select your preferred RRB and posts.

  5. Live Photo: Follow the prompts to capture a live photograph. Avoid white backgrounds and glasses.

  6. Upload Signature: Upload your signature in running handwriting (cursive) using black ink.

  7. Payment: Complete the application fee payment via online modes.

  8. Confirmation: Download the application summary for your records.
