Department of Posts, Ministry of Communication has officially released the notification for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-I, January 2026. This is a massive opportunity for 10th-pass candidates looking for a government engagement without a written examination.

The engagement is based on Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA).

 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Secondary School Examination (10th Std) Pass: Must have passing marks in Mathematics and English.

• Local Language: The candidate must have studied the local language (of the applied Circle) at least up to 10th Standard.

  • Special Note: For Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, and Sikkim, specific provisions apply regarding local dialects/languages (check official notification details).

• Other Skills: Knowledge of Computers, Knowledge of Cycling, and adequate means of livelihood.

2. Age Limit (As on 16.02.2026)

• Minimum: 18 Years

• Maximum: 40 Years

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: +5 Years

• OBC: +3 Years

• PwBD: +10 Years (+13 for OBC, +15 for SC/ST)

• EWS: No relaxation in age.

 Selection Process

• No Written Exam: Selection is based on a System Generated Merit List.

• Criteria: Merit is calculated based on marks obtained in the 10th Standard (SSC) aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals.

• Grades: If your board issues grades/CGPA, they will be converted to marks using a multiplication factor of 9.5.

• Female / SC / ST / PwBD / Transwomen: NIL (Exempted)

2. Fill Application: Log in with your Registration Number, select your Board, enter marks/grades, and select your Circle.

3. Choose Preferences: You can select a Division and give preferences for posts.

4. Upload Documents: Recent Photo (JPG, 30-100KB) and Signature (JPG, 20-100KB).

5. Payment: Pay the Rs. 100 fee (if applicable).

6. Print: Take a printout of the final application.
