6. Educational Qualification

  • Degree: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, or an equivalent degree from a recognized University as of 26.02.2026 (Closing Date).

8. Mode of Selection

The examination consists of three successive stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (200 Marks)

  • Paper I: General Studies (100 Marks).

  • Paper II: Civil Services Aptitude Test - CSAT (100 Marks).

  • Note:

    • Objective Type (MCQs).

    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for wrong answers.

    • CSAT is qualifying (Minimum 33% required).

    • Merit for Mains is based on Paper I marks only.

Stage 2: Main Written Examination (600 Marks)

  • Descriptive/Conventional Type.

  • Paper I: English (including English Essay) - 100 Marks.

  • Paper II: Hindi (including Hindi Essay) - 100 Marks.

  • Paper III: General Studies I - 100 Marks.

  • Paper IV: General Studies II - 100 Marks.

  • Paper V: General Studies III - 100 Marks.

  • Paper VI: General Studies IV - 100 Marks.

  • Note: Candidates must score minimum 45% in aggregate and 33% in Languages (Hindi/English) to qualify for the interview.

Stage 3: Personality Test / Viva-Voce (75 Marks)

  • Candidates 3 times the number of vacancies are called for the interview.

  • Final Merit List: Based on Mains (600) + Interview (75) = Total 675 Marks.

  • Preliminary Exam:

    • GS: General Science, Current Events, History of India (and Haryana), Geography, Polity, Economy, Mental Ability.

    • CSAT: Comprehension, Interpersonal skills, Logical reasoning, Decision making, General mental ability, Basic numeracy (Class X level).

  • Main Exam:

    • Languages: Précis writing, Comprehension, Essays, Usage and Vocabulary, Translation.
