BSNL has announced the direct recruitment for Senior Executive Trainees (SET) in the Telecom and Finance streams for the year 2026. This is a prestigious opportunity for engineering and finance professionals to join India's leading public sector telecom enterprise in an executive cadre.

5. Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following qualifications as of the closing date:

• SET (Telecom Operations): * Full-time regular Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree.

  • Minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

  • Disciplines: Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a combination of these core disciplines.

• SET (Finance):

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) OR

  • Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA).

6. Physical Standards & Requirements

While BSNL does not have a "Physical Efficiency Test" (PET) like a race, candidates must meet specific functional requirements and undergo a medical exam.

Functional Requirements (PST)

• Medical Standards: Candidates must pass the BSNL Medical Examination standards (comparable to GoI rules for Group 'A' officers).

7. Mode of Selection

The selection process involves a single-stage competitive examination followed by administrative checks.

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): An objective-type test consisting of 200 MCQs.

2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original documents.

3. Medical Examination: Final appointment is subject to medical fitness.

CBT Exam Pattern

• Duration: 180 Minutes (3 Hours)

• Part-I (Common): Aptitude Test (40 Questions/40 Marks).

• Part-II (Core): Technical Test (160 Questions/160 Marks).

• Marking: +1 for correct, -0.25 for wrong.

8. Syllabus Overview

• Part-I (Aptitude): Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning (Analytical & Critical), Verbal Ability, and Reading Comprehension.

• Part-II (Telecom): Basic Wireless Communication, GSM/3G/4G/5G concepts, Optical Fiber, Switching Systems, IP/Data Networks, Network Security, IoT, and AI in Telecom.

• Part-II (Finance): Advanced Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting, Taxation (GST & Income Tax), Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Auditing, and Corporate Laws.

9. Pay Scale, Bond & Probation

• Pay Scale: IDA Scale [E-3] ₹24,900 - ₹50,500 (Pre-revised).

• Service Bond: Selected candidates must execute a bond of ₹9 Lakhs to serve BSNL for a minimum of 5 Years.

• Probation: 2 Years (includes 52 weeks of rigorous training).

• Career Growth: Eligible for promotion to Assistant General Manager (E-4 Scale) after 3 years of total service.
