  • For Class IX: Candidates must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school.

  • For Class XI: Candidates must have passed Class X from a recognized Board/University with a minimum percentage.

  • For E-Lottery Classes: Proof of age and previous class passing certificate (if applicable) is required at the time of admission.

7. Selection Mode (Detailed)

Method 1: E-Lottery (Bal Vatika to Class VI)

BHU uses a transparent computerized lottery system.

  1. Random Seed Generation: A unique random number is generated for each applicant using MS-Excel.

  2. Order of Preference: Seats are filled first for BHU Employee Wards, then Divyang (OH), followed by General and Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).

  3. Reproducibility: Chits are drawn in front of an audience to set the "Random Seed" to ensure the process can be audited and verified.

Method 2: School Entrance Test (SET) (Classes IX & XI)

  1. Examination: A 2-hour offline OMR-based test.

  2. Merit List: Based on marks secured in SET.

  3. Tie-Breaking: If two students score the same marks, the older student is preferred. For Class XI, Class X marks are also considered for tie-breaking as per the subject group (e.g., Maths % for the Maths group).

8. Reservation Criteria

  • SC Category: 15% seats.

  • ST Category: 7.5% seats.

  • OBC-NCL: 27% seats (Certificate must be issued after June 1, 2025, for SET).

  • EWS: 10% seats.

  • Divyang (OH-PwBD): 3% horizontal reservation.

  • BHU Employee Ward: 50% seats reserved for children of regular/permanent/contractual (2 years service) employees.

9. Physical Standard & Efficiency (N/A)

Since this is a school admission process and not a defense/police recruitment, there are no specific Physical Standard Tests (PST) or Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). However, students with NCC 'A' certificates receive 3 additional marks weightage in the SET.

10. Syllabus for SET (Classes IX & XI)

The Question Paper consists of 100 MCQs of 1 mark each. No negative marking is applicable.

  • Class IX: Based on Class VIII standard. Subjects: English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science, and Science.

  • Class XI (Maths Group): English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and General Studies.

  • Class XI (Biology Group): English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Studies.
